A student-led initiative to empower India's farmers with AI-powered solutions, born from witnessing the struggles of our farming communities.

Students turning their technical skills into solutions for real-world problems
To use our technical education to give back to the farming community that feeds our nation. We're building simple, accessible AI tools that can help farmers overcome challenges like crop diseases, market access, and climate uncertainties.
A future where no farmer has to suffer losses due to lack of information or technology access. Where the children of farmers can dream big, knowing their families have sustainable livelihoods.
Making a difference in farmers' lives across India
The principles that guide everything we do
Promoting eco-friendly farming practices that protect our environment for future generations.
Every decision we make is centered around improving the lives and livelihoods of farmers.
Leveraging cutting-edge AI technology to solve age-old agricultural challenges.
Understanding the struggles of farmers and building solutions with compassion.
Students with a passion for social impact through technology

Founder
Computer Science & AI student at IGDTUW passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems affecting farmers.
Farmeal began when Nishita, during a visit to her ancestral village, saw farmers weeping over ruined crops. Despite studying cutting-edge AI at IGDTUW, she realized this technology wasn't reaching those who needed it most.
Partnering with Manish, they combined their technical skills with a deep desire to help. They spent months talking to farmers, understanding their daily struggles - the uncertainty of weather, the fear of crop diseases, the exploitation by middlemen.
The breaking point came when they met a farmer who had lost his entire season's yield to a disease that could have been easily treated if detected early. That's when they decided to build solutions that could reach farmers right where they are - through simple WhatsApp messages in their local languages.
What started as a college project has now grown into a movement, with students from across India joining to contribute their skills to this cause.
